5.
What is "The
Campaign For Life In America?"
The
Campaign For Life
is the national campaign originally organized and operated as a
development outreach of The Pregnancy Care Center of
the Susquehanna Valley, a Care
Net® affiliate since 1991. The Campaign For Life In America, Inc. was created as a
national outreach on behalf of America’s Christian Crisis
Pregnancy Care Centers in 2005 with the official
national launch of “A Light In The Darkness.”
Proceeds benefit your local center.
6. What
is "A Light In The Darkness?"
On January 22nd millions of
Luminary Candles will be lighted for 3 hours in silent
memorial outside of homes and churches, in the name
of Jesus Christ. In the book of John, Jesus Christ says,
"I am the light of the world.." and "I
have come that they might have have life..." But tragically,
over 43 million American lives have been lost in the
war against our unborn children since 1973. Although these precious lives have been lost, we believe they must not be forgotten. Some
men curse the darkness. Others light a candle. So join us. One
dollar lights one candle - in His name. Proceeds benefit your local Christian Crisis Pregnancy
Care Centers.
8. Why
Should I Support My Local Christian Crisis Pregnancy Care Center?
These centers are the unsung heroes in our nation's struggles with the vital issue of life - some have called them the ONLY ONES actually making a difference. America's local
Christian Crisis Pregnancy Care Centers are working
24 hours a day to save the lives of America's unborn
children in the name of Jesus Christ. This is the Christian
church working to save lives in His name - reaching
out with Christ's love, understanding and practical
assistance to share His view of the sanctity of every
human life. The typical local center is operated by
a handful of part-time staff and volunteers, often working
with meager resources and facing constant financial
challenges. Yet last year, these centers saved thousands of lives - and led thousands to faith in
Jesus Christ. Millions more American women will
face unplanned pregnancies again next year. They'll
have nowhere else to turn for help without your local
center. You
can help.
9. Why
The Christian Church?
From the first
chapter of the first book of Genesis to the last chapter
of the last book of Revelation, the Bible has but one
real subject - Life. Indeed, as Christians, we worship
the God of Life. Appropriately enough, the Bible has been called The Book Of Life, for it clearly teaches
1) The eternal importance of each human life, 2) Our
special relationship to God as His special creation,
and 3) The sanctity and uniqueness of each human life
- so special that "God sent his only son that whosoever
believed in Him would...have everlasting Life."
Indeed, some have remarked that because Life is the
overriding subject of the Word of God, defending
and saving lives - our physical human lives as well
as our eternal spiritual lives - is the real work of
the Church. The teachings of Jesus Christ are calling
America back from its gathering culture of death. He
gave everything to give them life. What would you give
to save them?
10. Why
43 million?
Tragically,
over 43 American million lives have been lost in the
war against our unborn children since 1973. Up to 43
million Luminary Candles will be lighted for life on
January 22nd outside of homes and churches for 3 hours
in silent memorial, in the name of Jesus Christ. One
dollar lights one candle – please join
us.
11. Why
Sunday, January 22nd?
This special
Sunday has been designated “Sanctity Of Human
Life Sunday” by America’s Christian churches.
For years, churches across the country have recognized
and remembered our lost unborn on this third Sunday
of January, the anniversary week Sunday of Rowe v. Wade,
which became U.S. law on January 21, 1973.
12. Our
local Christian
Crisis Pregnancy Care Center isn’t on your list – how
can we be included?
It’s easy.
Simply order one Church Luminary Kit
yourself, or recruit one Church Luminary Kit Sponsor for
your center. Then your center is added
automatically – and others in your area can also support
you through their own additional “Light In The
Darkness” sponsorships. Become a Church Luminary Kit Sponsor here.
14.
Why
can’t I simply light my own memorial candle on January
22nd? Why be part of this organized effort?
You can. But you’ll
be losing a critical opportunity to make a real difference
at least four (4) ways. Your participation in this national
event has a big impact. 1) You’ll be joining potentially
millions of other Christians across America as part
of this national day of mourning for our lost unborn.
2) You’ll be contributing directly to the efforts of
Christian Crisis Pregnancy Care Centers in your own
community to save lives in the name of Jesus Christ.
3) You’ll be providing online memorials as a witness
and an encouragement to others to stand for life in
the name of Jesus Christ. 4) Your registration of support
will provide a powerful visible witness to others who
may not yet know Jesus Christ, or his heart for the
unborn.
15.
We already give
to our local Christian crisis pregnancy care center. Why
join this national campaign?
Thank you for your other generous gifts to the ministry of your
local Christian crisis pregnancy care center. By also
becoming part of this event, you’ll help bring
a new added visibility to this important cause and help
encourage other individuals in your church and community
to participate with prayer, service, and financial support
at new levels. You'll also become part of a national
gathering of Christians in local communities across
America (all this, in addition to the important reasons
listed in the previous Q&A shown directly above
this one).
16.
Is this a political
campaign?
No. The Campaign
For Life is an outreach by Christians to other Christians
in the Church and to the world. We believe that America’s
Christian community has too long permitted the defense
of our innocent unborn to be marginalized as a mere
political issue. We believe that like all biblical matters,
the defense of our innocent unborn is truly a spiritual
issue. As we search the scriptures,
we find that the teachings of Jesus Christ are calling
America back from our gathering culture of death (more).
17.
Do You Endorse
A Political Party Or Political Candidate?
No. We welcome
the support of all Christians, regardless of party affiliation.
We acknowledge that as citizens living in a free democratic
republic, each of us has an important responsibility
to actively support those public servants who themselves
seek God’s guidance and work to do his will. But we
also recognize that all politics are temporal, all political
movements are changeable and corruptible – and as such,
they are the province of men. The Campaign For
Life seeks rather to stand upon the unchangeable
word of God and to seek and proclaim the heart of Jesus
Christ as revealed in scripture.
18.
How can I utilize
your press releases and church materials?
It’s easy and
it’s FREE when you’re a Church
Luminary Kit Sponsor. We offer many media materials
which are available
immediately to you to help you
publicize “A Light In The Darkness” both
within your church and through your local media. Click
here.
19.
Are my contributions
tax-deductible?
Yes.
The Campaign For Life In America, Inc. is a non-profit Christian charity and has formally filed for 501 (c) (3) status with the IRS; status and approval are pending. Please consult your professional tax advisor
for guidelines.
